project sylpheed : day 5

Yes, I skipped some, I was stuck remember. Ok, to bring you up to speed on the story : After having your talk with Margras, you do a few missions of little importance storywise, protecting your base from ambushes and such. Then, Admiral Viera decides he wants to go attack Acheron. If you remember my intro post, this is Margras' home planet that was decimated. Big mistake, at first things seem easy. After you complete objective 1 however, a small fleet seems to flee. Viera follows them, and orders you and your squad, Rhino squad, to come with him. Leaving only Bird squad to protect your base, the ACROPOLIS and to finish off the stragglers. While taking down the enemies that supposedly ran away, you and your men suddenly realize the enemies are taking their time escaping. Then you get a message saying the ACROPOLIS is under attack by a heavy ambush. Needless to say, Viera doesn't care. Eventually another ambush comes out and tries to shoot down Vieras ship, these ambushers are two elite squads - The Guilty Roses, and a few of the Night Ravens, which is Margras' squad.

After defeating them Admiral Viera finally runs away, leaving you free to go to the ACROPOLIS. When you get there, the situation is BAD. So to help protect the base, you decide to lead away ALL members of the Night Ravens, after a cutscene where you and Margras talk. In the same cutscene, Margras' right had man, Taskent, gets tired of you two talking, so he shoots missiles at you. Your old commander, who has stolen a training ship to help you, shoots the missiles and goes flying through the smoke. Into Taskents ship, killing them both. Then the mission starts, its you, and about 30 other Night Ravens. HARD mission, trust me. Once you shoot down Margras he lands on Acheron, and tells you how he saw the Terran forces annhilate his home and tries to convince you to join him. Katana tells him that killing them would just make him the same as the Terrans, and refuses.

Back at the ADAN base, Margras is seen meeting with Chairwoman Egan, the leader of ADAN. She sees that he has started to think about his cause, although still comitted to it. The scene ends with her looking toward the screen saying "It's always the sharp blades that dull the fastest. A shame, I was growing fond of him."

Possible assassination? Love interest? Do I get MORE missiles? who knows? But, this should be fun.

conclusion

Ok, so my project in writers workshop is COMPLETE, YES!!!!1!!SHIFT-ONE

but, I think I'll actually keep this thing up and running from time to time (basically so long as i dont forget) so really, there IS no conclusion. Yep, its just a conspiracay maaaannn. Best part about this though, I can choose to keep up with the games, which I probly will a lot (and I just got past the part I was stuck at XD) but if I don't feel like it I can just make this whatever I want it to be about, which I probly will do even more. So, guess all there is to say is : Grant. Down and out.

rage quit, cuz rage take a break doesnt sound good

Ok, some of you may wonder why I havent posted any updates on project sylpheed. This is because of one reason. I'm stuck. Apparently things become harder after you get all the good weapons (i think) and become captain...by a crapload. "Mission start" -looking and can ONLY see pink and explosions on the screen- "Mission Failed" I have only one thing to say you, Mr. Sylpheed

Lesson of life?

Well, this has absolutely nothing to do with anything ive already mentioned in the blog. Just kinda felt like doin it ya know? Just right now, I feel good, and when that happens, I get philosophical. So, for tonight, I'm thinking I'll share a lesson on life :

life, is just like the earth itself. there's night and day, and summer and winter. One is dark is cold, one is bright, and full of heat. but they BOTH come at some point, and they both leave at some point. No denying it, and no need to freak out because you know it'll come again. The way I see it, this can also be applied to good times. I am so tired of people who where ONE bad thing happens to them they think its the end of the world. So what if your laptop isn't working, or your parents say no to you. Big deal. Consider yourself lucky. Some kids, don't have parents for them to get mad at over a simple word. Let alone laptops. I guess just if you feel like the world's against you, wait it out. It'll pass. Really, I wouldn't lie to you, or anyone really. Honesty is another topic I want to hit someday. And if things seem good, just remember they can't always stay that way as much as we would like. So don't worry when Winter comes, or when the moon decides to replace the sun. And if you still freak out, look at the beauty in the world. Sure, night may be dark, but the moon still shines. The stars are in the sky, and the snow can glisten.

Alright, guess thats it. Hope it helps somehow. lesson of life? maybe. But, thats one lesson, Down and Out

Project Sypheed : Day 2

Ok, lets see how well I can run the story by you guys. The game starts out as a training mission, where you, your squad captain, and teammates test the new ship model (Deltasaber) when all of a sudden  A LOT of pink ships show up and start attacking. This is the ADAN forces. The next few missions are really just protecting other ships being attacked, like Admiral Vieira, who is so cowardly even when YOUR base is being attacked he wants you to escort him out. After a while a squad of really good ships come in and start cluster-bombing your whole fleet. After they get taken down, they retreat, and later on a news update from the commander of ADAN it is revealed that the captain of that squad was your best friend, Margras. The mission after that you fight them again, and this time after theyre beaten Margras draws you away from your fleet so you two can talk. He then tells you and Ellen, another friend, to leave the military, or he will kill them. Then he flies away.

Thats Margras in his space suit, or whatever it is.

Once returning to base, you find your commander is injured and can't fly. So guess who gets  promoted to new captain. Thats right baby, YOU. You can now command your entire squad to do things for you without them calling you a jerk. Yep, power. Also, I've found something in the game I quite enjoy. Something better than firing 22 missiles at once.....firing 60 missiles at once. Yep, you read that right, 60.
All I can say : pretty PRETTY colors. This should be fun

Project Sylpheed : Day 1

Ok, I purchased this game just yesterday. Project Sylpheed : Arc of Deception Is an airplane game based in the future. and in space. Ok, to quote the back of the case : "For five centuries, Earth-led Terran forces have colonized the galaxy. The rebel ADAN 'Freedom Alliance' has declared war to end the so-called 'Terran tyranny'. Two best friends and up-and-coming Terran ace pilots - Katana and Margras - are seperated by the unstable political situation on Margras' home planet, Acheron. Soon after Margras is forced into exile, Acheron in a suspicious terra-forming accident that kills most of the population and renders the planet uninhabitable. Driven by revenge, Margras joins the ADAN fleet and leads merciless raids against his former Terran comrads. As Katana, it's up to you to stop your closest friend and end the cosmos-spanning war." Man that was a lot to type. Ok, to break it down : You play a space pilot. He has a friend. Friend gets exiled. Friend changes sides. You fight friend. Simple enough.

Now, I have not beaten this game yet, so I can't give you the important information in the story (I'm only on level 3) but as far as gameplay goes, this is AWESOME. Players really get the sense they're in space, it's so easy to get turned around and upside down. The game is broken down into missions, and if you're new to plane type games like me, its HARD. You fly across a MASSIVE area fighting enemy fighters and the visuals are at times breathtaking. Sure the graphics may not be the best, but check this out.
and if you think thats good, you should see when you fire 22 missiles at once and they go acrossthe screen.

Characters in the game seem to basically be your typical anime characters. Crazy hairstyles, emotional outburts, and weird names at times (but this may just be the future part coming in). Downsides : You can only have ONE ship, but you can choose what weapons to customize it with. throughout each mission there are the main objectives and sub-objectives, and you can only find out what those are by completing them.

Now, as I go throughout the story, I'll be telling you guys what's going on, so you can learn all this stuff with me. This should be fun.

Joysticks, and joy kicks

Ok, My creative writing class at school is to make a blog. I guess in the previous years we would've had to write about self improvement, or trying something new. Not this year. This year we have to combine our love of writing, with the love of...well, anything really. Me? I like games, and fighting. Simple as that. Well, I love pizza too, but who doesn't? So I called up many different martial arts schools and asked if one of the blackbelts at that school would care to spar with me. I am NOT a blackbelt, and 5th grade is the ONLY time I've trained in martial arts (only got 4 belts up though.) so needless to say, those matches would be interesting. They said no. Liability issues. I think they were just scared, I give off the aura of a master even over the phone.

I've always liked fighting and games ever since I was a kid. It all started when I went to the KC Renfest as a little kid, parents bought me a wooden toy sword and that was that. I practiced literally for years, and for the most part I can take down any who oppose me...for the most part anyway. And then, Power rangers. Yep, just like every kid, I thought power rangers were the best thing ever made. Next thing you know I'm playing games where I AM one, and even getting into FIST fights over which power ranger is best. Now, I no longer move my whole body and go off balance when I karate chop things.

So, anyway, to combine my love of  all those things I've decided to do week long game reviews on this, and if I get in a few matches then so be it. Joysticks, and Joy Kicks. Now, I am mostly into fantasy games (final fantasy and the like.) and fighting games. So outside of those, I'm dead. I'm decent in hand to hand, weapons, and xbox. This should be fun.
